Cuttagee Beach and Lake: A Hidden Gem on the South Coast

Discover the glistening blue waters of Cuttagee Beach and Lake, located south of Bermagui. This picturesque beach is a popular destination for surfing, swimming, and fishing. The lake, bordered by one of the Sapphire Coast's iconic single-lane wooden bridges, is an ideal spot for young children to frolic in the shallow, calm waters when the lake is open to the sea. It is also a fantastic location for activities such as canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and prawning during the season.

Embark on a scenic bushwalk to Cuttagee's northern headland, following the trail just north of the bridge. This hike offers breathtaking coastal views, opportunities for whale watching during the season, and access to Barragoot Beach, boasting 3.5 kilometers of pristine sandy shoreline.

Please note that there are no facilities available, and neither the beach nor the lake are patrolled. Visitors should exercise caution when swimming and surfing. A designated dog leash-free area stretches from the southern end of the beach to just before the lake.

Cuttagee Beach and Lake are situated eight kilometers south of Bermagui along the Tathra-Bermagui Road. Explore this hidden gem and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Sapphire Coast.
