Journey Through Windyridge Gardens: An Enchanting Experience

Windyridge Gardens at Mount Wilson has a rich history dating back to 1877, with the first planted tree being a Swiss Christmas Tree (Abies amabilis) in August 1945. The garden now boasts a variety of stunning trees including Cedrus deodara, copper beech, pin oaks, maples, ginkos, azaleas, rhododendrons, dogwoods, and nyssas.

In an exciting turn of events, during Easter 1995, Rodger and Wai Davidson, of Davidsons Nurseries at Galston in Sydney, acquired Windyridge to expand their collection of cold climate plants. Under Wai's expert supervision, work began to transform Windyridge into a magnificent garden. After tree maintenance, Landscape Architect Gordon Sykes was brought in to terrace and plant a vast grassy slope, bringing the new owners' vision to life.

The future of Windyridge Gardens is bright, with a team of passionate individuals dedicated to creating a truly grand garden for all to enjoy. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting transformation!
