Exploring the Snow Gums: The Snow Gums Boardwalk

The Snow Gums boardwalk offers one of the most breathtaking and easily accessible views in Kosciuszko National Park. Imagine standing at the Charlotte Pass turning circle and being greeted by the majestic sight of Mount Kosciuszko and other towering peaks right in front of you. It's like having a front-row seat in a grandstand!

As you stroll along the boardwalk, which follows the tree line separating the sub-alpine from the alpine landscape, you'll encounter ancient snow gums that have been shaped by the harsh elements of wind, snow, and ice. In the spring, the ground comes alive with vibrant wildflowers like yellow billy buttons, anemone buttercups, and paper daisies. And don't be surprised if you come across snowdrifts higher up where the trees can't grow.

The winding boardwalk and lookout platforms are accessible to all, with informative signage providing insights into the unique landscapes, plants, and animals of the area. Just 200m from the Charlotte Pass lookout, steps lead up to a scenic viewing platform, followed by a few more steps to the Main Range lookout, offering panoramic views of the stunning Snowy Mountains. Keep an eye out for the Mount Kosciuszko summit trail and the Main Range walk as they wind their way through the picturesque landscape.
